DataLinx was retained to replace the RBOC's current Mobile Client supporting 3,000 technicians with the MAST (Mobile Application Studio Toolkit) WFM solution.

• Develop requirements for Mobile Application & interfaces
• Develop templates for individual service types, i.e. POTS, DSL, Hi-Cap, etc.
• Recommend PDAs and cell phones for pilot
• Developed Mobile Application on a PDA

Results
The MAST tool allows for tracking of tasks within the job resulting in:
• The ability to identify customer appointments in jeopardy
• Increased productivity management
• Proactive notification of potential roadblocks
With the increased capability of making screen changes and field additions without the need of a developer, as well as the addition of less expensive PDAs for field technicians, a significant reduction in OPEX was achieved by the RBOC.
