Case Study: MSO BSS Architecture
A National MSO
DataLinx evaluated the current BSS/OSS architecture for a top tier MSO and its ability to provide high-speed Internet and IP services in rapidly changing residential and commercial markets.
BSS (Portal, CRM, and Billing) Architecture Assessment and Planning for IP services
Systems inventory, interfaces and key data elements of current state architecture
Gap analysis and risk assessment relative to supporting business objectives and industry best practices
Recommendation for gap coverage and risk mitigation including operational and financial impact
Strategic Systems Architecture Roadmap to Desired State
New and/or Updated Process Flows and Use Cases driving new systems architecture
Working in a collaborative effort with management, the DataLinx team helped the MSO to develop and prepare for ongoing architecture roadmap initiatives that would enable future IP services. The recommendations focused on reduced BSS complexity and increased re-use of systems functionality in the residential and commercial domains. More adaptive and responsive BSS to market demands would help to lower overall development and support costs for new services.
